1. How do interpersonal and employability skills effect your everyday life and your future?
Interpersonal and employability skills affect everyday life and my future, because communicating and interacting with other people can help build better interaction skills. 

2. What is graphic design and why is it important to communicate visually?

Graphic Design is designing commercially for people, using a computer software. It is important because it can help create designs digitally and communicate visually so that people are aware and can see the design. 

3. Why is it important to identify safety issues and to safely operate equipment utilized in the classroom?

It is important because it can help prevent danger that would harm oneself or others. It is also important to safely operate equipment utilized in the classroom because there could be harmful things that could injure a person. 

4. What are the elements of design and how are they incorporated into a design?
The elements of design are value, line, shapes, color, space, form, and texture. They are incorporated into a design by being building blocks of creating different designs. They provide the foundation of each design.

5. What is a vector-based design and how is it created?
Vector-based design is using illustrator. It is created by using mathematical formula based on geometry.

6. How is color used effectively in graphic design?

Color is effectively used in graphic design, because it emphasizes certain important qualities in the picture or design shown. It is used to create emphasis and create special effects in the design to catch an audiences attention, such as using bright colors, or different shading techniques that are pleasing to the eye. 

7. What is a raster-based image and how is it created?

Raster based image is an image that uses and is made of a set of grid dots. These are called pixels and each one is assigned a color. Raster image is also resolution dependent. They are created by digital images that could be scanned.

8. How does the manipulation of size and resolution effect digital images?

The manipulation of size and resolution effects digital images because it can make the image more clear of fuzzier. Also by changing the size of the image, the digital image could easily be made clearer to view. That goes the same for the resolution. If it is manipulated, the digital image could be made much clearer.

9.What is the function of the type within a design?

The function of the type within a design is to attract or display the different fonts used in different types of design or readings. For example, in the design, the function of the type used within can easily attract a viewer or hide so it will not distract from the design. Overall the function of the type within a design is to attract or display what is presented in the design. 

10.How do designers use a page layout program? 

Designers use a page layout program to arrange the type and different images to create a document, brochure, flyer or other different designs. They use this program to be able to create a document that could be used to display a work of art. These layout programs are able to be used to rearrange these designs and fonts to create an artwork or display. 

11.  What steps does a designer take to design a page layout from concept to final product?

Some steps a designer takes to design a page layout from concept to final product is to first come up with and idea and produce a rough draft so they are able to get and idea. Then they create a thumbnail either for themselves to continue designing or for a customer to approve of the rough draft design. Then they use a layout program or other programs to create the final product from what they had designed earlier. 

12. What are the key developments in the history of visual communication?  How did these developments shape our industry?

The key developments in the history of visual communication is the different ways arts were visually displayed in the past. There is a main one which included writing and type. These developments helped shape our industry because it helped provide a better visual as technology and graphics continued. This also helped made designs and visual communication more innovative.

13. What careers are available within the field of graphic designer? What profession are associated with the industry?

Some careers that are available within the field of graphic designer is logo designer, photographer, and web designer. The professions that are associated with the industry are web designers, and designers in general that deal with the online or computer technology.


14. Would I want to become an Illustrator or Graphic Designer? Explain.
I might want to become an illustrator or graphic designer, however it is not my ideal career, and I do not have enough passion to become one. Although it is nice to learn and use the computer in different and fasters ways. This might also be able to benefit me in the future if I ever work for a company or work on my own business.
