Genre- Young Adults. Symbolism- Moon, Love, Baby.
The theme is Family Love. 
Author Bio- C.B. Christiansen grew up in Washington State. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in education in the University of Washington. She lives with her husband and daughter. She is the author of a highly acclaimed novel for young adults, A Small Pleasure. She has also written an illustrated chapter book, Sycamore street and two picture books, My Mother's House, My Father's House, and Mara in the Morning
Summary- Bitte is turning twelve in the summer, and is looking for the answer of "What is love?". Her friend, Claire would not discuss to her about love, and neither would her own sister. However her sister did say one thing, she loves the baby that is growing inside of her. Bitte insists to love that baby too, and hold her tight and not let her go. But her sister Kari, unmarried and young, plans on letting her go to be adopted. Bitte can't see that letting takes a lot of courage, and is sent away before the baby is born to keep her protected. She grows up and realizes on her own to the question of "What is Love?".
